We Need to Name Our Feelings – RayWLincoln.com

What is the name for your feeling? It is important that we name our feelings. What we name a feeling determines our perspective…

Good afternoon. Thank you to all who have phoned and texted to check on us. We are safe and have power. No Internet since Friday and cellular is intermittent, so I’m not sure when you will receive this. We are located smack dab in the middle of the crisis, but we are on high ground. The river is about 1/4 mile from us as the crow flies. We can see it below from our deck in the winter when the leaves have fallen. We are at the junction of the Guadalupe and Johnson Creek (approximately) just outside Ingram city limits towards Hunt. We were able to leave briefly to get groceries yesterday and see the extent of the damage firsthand. Our hearts are heavy and a very depressed mood hangs over the entire area in grief for the many lives lost, homes destroyed, and livelihoods seriously impacted. What we saw yesterday was indescribable. Things have forever changed in our quiet little hill country haven. We greatly appreciate your prayers and thinking of us.
